Wow, this blogging malarkey is hard work! When I started the Girl, Reading blog a few months ago, I naively thought I could turn out several high quality articles and reviews a week without breaking a sweat. Recently though I’ve felt not unlike a hamster in a wheel, running frantically and getting absolutely nowhere. I love reading, writing and sharing my thoughts with others, and working on the blog is never, ever a chore; I just wish I had more hours in the day to spend on it! Over the summer I’d happily sit up until late scribbling away; now, as the evenings start drawing in I find my body clock being nudged into an unproductive pattern of yawning by nine, bed by ten that pretty much puts the kybosh on any serious blog-writing sessions. I’ve tried blogging in my lunch hour, but the niggling sight of a heaving in-tray in my peripheral vision and the distracting flash of incoming emails just aren’t conducive to any kind of creativity. I’m really touched by the amount of support and encouragement I’ve had from both friends and strangers since I started, and I can’t help feeling that with every long absence I’m letting them down a little bit more. So I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has joined and stayed with me this far; there may be extended periods of silence but rest assured, I will always be back.

I know what you mean! I love blogging too, but it does take up a lot time. I’ve been burning the midnight oil lately.

know, it’s so hard to juggle blogging with other essentials like a job, sleep etc!
